TLDR: Receptionists are unwilling to offer any sort of assistance in a billing dispute where they admit they "dropped the ball."
I wish I'd read Ben's review below because I agree: 'what a ripoff'
I had a couple of snowboarding injuries from early on in this season (Achilles Tendon, AC Joint, and large swelling on my hip). I don't have health insurance and I just wanted to get some info to find the extent of my injuries and a program that I could use to start rehab on myself. It was $100 for the initial check-up (1 hour) and cheaper for following visits. I told David that I wasn't planning on coming back since I didn't have health insurance. So he made sure I got all my injuries diagnosed and explained them thoroughly, showed me how to tape my AC joint and what tape to order off amazon, printed out a rehab routine and added special instructions specific to me, and then called a month later to ask how everything was going. He gave me his card and said I could call for free if I had any questions. I went into this check-up with doing quite a bit of research on what my injuries might be and had a list of questions ready...this visit would not have been nearly as valuable if I hadn't prepared.
I'll start off by saying that I have no problems with the treatment I've received from David Csepe. Beyond that, Golden PT Clinic has been a nightmare. I was suggested PT treatment after XRays from an Orthopedic surgeon visit didn't show anything abnormal. As I mentioned, the treatment seemed OK; it wasn't working miracles but I was trying to give it a shot. Fast forward a couple weeks and the claims started showing up. My first visit explanation of benefits was within 10 dollars of the amount to visit the orthopedic surgeon... are you kidding me (the payable out of pocket amount was similar as well)? I was originally estimated 50-100; it turned out to be 3 times that. After getting that bill, I promptly spoke with the receptionist and asked if they could not bill through my insurance if that would be cheaper. The sign on the door states 100 for first visit and 70 there after if you don't use insurance. She said it would be no problem to do that and she would have the other woman call me if there were any issues. She never called, so one would assume there were no problems. Now more bills start showing up, and again, my out of pocket payment is 3 times the amount for no insurance. Since then, I've called multiple times, each time being promised a call-back (I have yet to receive even one) on what we can do to fix this. So far, the only resolution that has been offered is "we dropped the ball but we can't fix what is already submitted." They have also declined to give me any sort of credit. There are many PT locations around, and my recommendation would be to look elsewhere.
